Technical Diving
Technical diving is scuba diving that exceeds the scope of recreational diving. Technical divers require advanced training, extensive experience, specialized equipment, and often breathe gases other than air or nitrox.

While there are many opinions on exactly what technical diving encompasses, it generally will include scuba diving at depths exceeding 130 feet, decompression diving, using mixed gases (heliox, heliair, trimix), overhead environments (wreck, cave, or ice), use of rebreathers, and some include solo diving as a form of technical diving as well.

The most important aspect of technical diving is that you receive proper training. TDO currently offers a wide range of technical courses through various agencies including SDI, TDI, and PDIC.
Nitrox DiverDiving with Nitrox can increase your bottom times, reduce fatigue, reduce the effects of nitrogen narcosis, and reduce your chances of decompression sickness if followed properly. Nitrox diving is gaining popularity at resorts, live aboard boat operators and local dive shops.
Intro to TechThis course introduces students to the world of technical diving. This course is designed as an introductory course to the TDO Advanced Nitrox course and the TDI Decompression Procedures course.
Advanced NitroxThis course examines the use of EAN-21 through 100% oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 msw / 130 fsw.
Deco ProceduresThis course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving.
Extended Range DiverThis course provides training and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 msw / 180 fsw that requires stated decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.
Advanced Wreck DiverThis course provides training and experience to competently conduct advanced wreck dives. This program includes penetration skills and techniques.
Trimix DiverProvides training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 msw / 200 fsw.
Advanced Trimix DiverProvides training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 100 msw / 330 fsw.
Other Service Courses:
  • Nitrox Gas Blender
  • Advanced Gas Blender
  • Oxygen Equipment Service Technicial
  • Visiual Inspection Procedure
