Specialty Diver Certification

Specialty Diver courses are designed for divers who wish to increase their knowledge, skills, comfort level, and enjoyment of diving, while preparing for new diving experiences. You will build upon your current skill level and learn new skills to enhance your diving experience. Each specialty will open new doors above and beyond open water certification.

The theory portion may be completed through a classroom course or at home on the student’s own time.  Pool and open water sessions are also required.

Various Specialty courses may be used to qualify for your Adventure Diver or Advanced Diver rating.

Specialty Courses:

Any courses with a date during the week are normally held in the evening. Weekend course dates will vary between daytime and evening depending on the course. Many Specialty Courses are held "on demand" so please contact the store if the dates listed don't work for you.

Course fees do not include textbook, transportation, accommodation, equipment, air fills, etc.
Drysuit DiverDrysuit DiverThe Drysuit Diver course will prepare you for diving with a drysuit in cold, Canadian waters. While a drysuit course is not required for diving with a drysuit, it is highly recommended. Divers who dive with drysuits will tell you that you will learn the skills faster and easier in a structured course, compared to venturing on your own to "figure it out".
Equipment SepcialtyThis course is designed to give a more in depth look at how dive equipment works. It will cover general repairs and maintenance, focusing on "in-field" repairs that are common and easily fixable at a dive site.
Full Face Mask SpecialtyFull Face Mask SpecialtyThe purpose of this course is to train divers with the necessary procedures, knowledge and skills to safely scuba dive with a full face mask. If you're not sure, try the discover dive in the pool to see what it's like.
Ice DiverIce DiverThe purpose of this course is to acquaint the scuba diver with many of the hazards associated with ice diving and how to plan and execute an ice dive.
Nitrox DiverNitrox DiverDiving with Nitrox can increase your bottom times, reduce fatigue, reduce the effects of nitrogen narcosis, and reduce your chances of decompression sickness if followed properly. Nitrox diving is gaining popularity at resorts, live aboard boat operators and local dive shops.
Underwater PhotographyThis course allows the student to experience some of the special considerations of underwater photography, with a discussion of many of the areas of interest to the photographer.
