The Drysuit Diver course will prepare you for scuba diving with a dry suit in cold, Canadian waters. Drysuits may be purchased or rented for the course. While a drysuit course is not required for diving with a dry suit, it is highly recommended. Divers who dive with dry suits will tell you that you will learn the skills faster and easier in a structured course, compared to venturing on your own to "figure it out".

A brief overview of dry suits may be completed in the classroom. One to two pool sessions with the instructor will be completed before going to the open water to complete one to two dives with the instructor. The number of sessions varies depending on the student's level of comfort and knowledge.

Skills learned will include buoyancy control, inflator & exhaust valve use, malfunction procedures, flooded suit, air in boots recovery, and other skills deemed necessary by the student and/or instructor.

Includes drysuit rental (if required). Does not include student manual which may be shared. Please see below.
Course fees do not include textbook, transportation, accommodation, equipment, air fills, etc.

The Dry Suit Manual is the text-book literary assistant to the SDI Dry Suit certification course. By signing up for this course, the perspective student will gain valuable information regarding the proper use of a dry suit in the scuba diving environment, as well as an in-depth guide to purchasing your own dry suit. Detailed within this fourth edition of Dry Suit Diving are various chapters including a history of diver thermal protection, selecting a dry suit, dry suit valves, dry suit underwear, and finally how to put on and remove your dry suit.
